Here for sale is my outstanding Volvo 850 2.5 20V Manual Estate. P325 PHK.
Having covered just shy of 106,000 miles from new, with fully documented service history.
This car was supplied new by Lipscomb Volvo where it was a dealership demonstrator before being purchased by it’s first ‘proper’ owner. It was cared for by the dealership until 2007 when the owner sold the car and moved abroad.
The second owner and her husband (third owner) then owned the vehicle until following their passing when I acquired the vehicle.
As per the above, the car was serviced by Volvo Lipscomb in Kent until 2007 when a local Volvo specialist then took over, and the history is stamped as such up to date. Last cambelt and water pump change was in 2020, and it’s done few miles since. MOT until May 2023.
In terms of aesthetic condition, both the exterior and interior is superb – minor age related marks in accordance with age and mileage to be expected, but it was recently detailed with a Ceramic Wax coating by a local professional as per the photographs, and the alloy wheels were fully refurbished. Looking at the condition of the number plates and rear supplying dealer sticker, I’m almost certain this car has been garaged majority of her life.
Mechanically, one of the best driving 850’s I have owned, having had a fair few, personally I prefer the 2.5 20v engine over the T5, it’s more than powerful enough and extremely smooth. Car cruises at 70mph+ comfortably and gearbox changes as smoothly as you would expect. Steering racks on these cars can often judder but this as smooth as my modern cars. Most of these estates suffer with a rattle or squeak, but nothing to report here either.
Electrically, everything working as you would expect, no warning lights.
In terms of negatives – I would highlight the handbrake does only hold on the highest setting, was adjusted for the last MOT and I always leave in gear, so may need some further adjustment before the next MOT.
This car would make a perfectly usable modern classic daily driver, or part of an appreciating collection. If I had more time and space to enjoy it I wouldn’t be listing it. As with all Volvo’s of this era it enjoys that ‘will never let you down’ reliability and extremely comfortable to drive.
