1998 Mazda MX-5 1.8 – 66,000 Miles
I bought this 18 months ago as a 2 owner low mileage (64,000) genuine, honest car with great service history. It had recently had front discs and pads and 4 new Goodyear premium tyres. I had it serviced with new oil, filters, brake fluid, new rear brakes and a thorough checkover.
The old suspension was weak, so all 4 springs and dampers were replaced with the upgrade VMAXX adjustable coilover kit from MX5Parts which has transformed the car. Have enjoyed using it, but have ended up storing it for most of the last year. However it always starts, everything always works and it went straight through an MOT last week. Have used it again a few times prior to writing this ad, and it always reminds how reliable, dependable, fun and entertaining these little things are. It drives incredibly well.
Mileage is genuine, loads of history comes with the car (14 stamps in the service book + loads of receipts, all MOTs, new timing belt in 2017 @61,350 miles, recent service). The interior is superb. The front of the car is probably original paint, but like most Mk2 MX-5s, the rear is not so good, definitely some filler work around the rear arches and a disappointing paint job on the rear. OK from 20 yards… The underside is well undersealed and strong (new MOT).
